Rescued Art

28″W x 22″H Pencil signed and titled print by Gerald Bienvenu, published in 1991. Born in New Orleans in 1936, Bienvenu is an oft- rewarded artist who produces these beautiful watercolors from his own photographs.
Depicted here is classic architecture from the French Quarter of New Orleans. The amazing subtlety of light and shadow is reminiscent of Andrew Wyeth. In fact, I thought this was a Wyeth until I read the hand printed name and researched Bienvenu.
The piece is double matted for highlight and framed in gold painted hardwood. Excellent condition throughout: cleaned with new backing paper and hanging hardware.
