Rescued Art

24″H x 34″W fine art print by Winslow Homer, the much-loved American artist who was self-taught and loved the countryside of the Northeast. He is known for his amazing subtlety of color: bright and complex.
“Boys in a Pasture” looks to our modern eyes as a nostalgic moment with two brothers hanging out in a field with no worries and no intent to do anything different. The wide horizon makes them seem absolutely safe on their grassy couch.
This print is actually larger than the original (1874) that hangs in the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. It is framed in navy blue oak to bring out the deep blues of the farm field and sky.
Very good condition throughout: cleaned with refinished oak frame, new glass, backing paper, and hanging hardware
